چکیده

background: long-term extraction and production of various oil derivatives causes contamination of soil adjacent to production and refining area. the main important issue is the ecological hazard of these pollutants. the main aim of the study was to identify and separate native bacteria that are responsible for degradation of oil contaminated fields. methods: we prepared a compound sample of contaminated soil in the vicinity of oil wells drilled in marun oil field of ahwaz, iran. moreover, an uncontaminated sample was picked from the same area and deliberately contaminated with crude oil in a 5 wt% rate. the number of oil degrading bacteria was counted by mpn (most probable number ) method. then, the bacteria was cultured and isolated in a rich agar medium and late discrimination test was done by gram staining and biochemical tests at the level of family or genus. findings: the number of bacteria in naturally contaminated and artificially soil was 6.8 × 10 5 and 3.5 × 10 7 , respectively. the majority of bacteria responsible for oil degradation were s taphylococcus, acinetobacter and flavobacterium genus in naturally contaminated soil; however, a cinetobacter, pseudomonas and moraxella genus were the main bacteria in artificially-contaminated soil samples. conclusion: it is recommended to be used for bioremediation of native organisms and bio-power and robust.

Isolation of hydrocarbon degrading bacteria from soils contaminated with crude oil spills.

A feasibility study was conducted to evaluate the capability of bacterial strains to degrade crude oil under in vitro conditions. Pseudomonas strain PS-I could degrade alkanes (70.69%) and aromatics (45.37%). Alkanes and aromatic fractions separated by column chromatography were analyzed by gas chromatography. In case of Pseudomonas strain PS-I, nC17/Pr, nC18/Ph ratios decreased from 2.5100 to ...

Isolation and Identification of Carcinogen Acenaphthene-Degrading Endemic Bacteria from Crude Oil Contaminated Soils around Abadan Refinery

Background and Objective: PAHs are non-polar organic compounds consisting of two or more fused benzene multi-rings. Among these compounds, acenaphthene is a multi-ring hydrocarbon that occurs abundantly in nature. Use of microorganisms to clean the contaminations of soil can be cheap and effective. The most important acenaphthene-degrading bacteria are pseudomonas, micrococcus, and Bacillus. Th...

isolation and identification of crude oil degrading and biosurfactant producing bacteria from the oil-contaminated soils of gachsaran

background and objectives: petroleum hydrocarbons are harmful to the environment, human health, and all other living creatures. oil and its byproducts in contact with water block sunshine to phytoplanktons and thus break the food chain and damage the marine food source. this study aims to isolate the crude oil degrading and biosurfactant producing bacteria from the oil contaminated soils of gac...

Isolation, Identification and Evaluation of Oil Hydrocarbon Decomposing Bacteria from Contaminated Areas of Oil Fields

Microbialbiodegradation is known as an effective and harmless method to overcome environmental pollution with oil hydrocarbon. Some bacterial species were isolated from the Sarvestan oilfields (Iran, Fars province), then identified and applied for oil hydrocarbon decomposition. A carbon-free minimum medium (CFMM) containing 1% crude oil was used to isolate bacteria through incubation at 30°C in...

Screening of diesel oil degrading bacteria from petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil

Four bacterial strains were isolated from diesel contaminated soil in TVS oil depot, Trichy, Tamil Nadu. From the soil sample four morphologically different bacterial species were isolated and the active strains were Pseudomonas aeruginosa, P. putida, Arthobacter sp and Bacillus sp. The diesel degrading efficiency of isolated organisms was tested in BH medium supplemented with diesel and DCPIP ...
